HAPPY SECOND BIRTHDAY HEARTSTONES!

Wow.

Two years! How time flies eh?

Quick post just to say a big thank you to everyone who’s helped and supported this project for the last couple of years. It’s lovely to have people who are at least a little bit interested in it, and I don’t think I’d have managed it without some of that support (nor without the constant support of Kathryn.)

Here’s to another great two years!

Hope you had a lovely christmas/holidays/just a general weekend if you don’t celebrate christmas and I shall be posting again on the 7th! (For those of you aren’t on the facebook group, there’s no update from me next week because I’m going to visit my family for New Year/Hogmany. Kathryn may well be planning something for in between that so keep your eyes out on here/the actual website.

MERRY CHRISTMAS!

In just two days time, Heartstone Odyssey will have it’s second “birthday”. Of course, when I say birthday, I literally mean the day it was created. If we had birthdays for when the characters, blog, website or even the name Heartstone Odyssey was made. Then I think we would be here for a very long time, and bordering on obsessive!

The good news I come bearing this week is that I’ve managed to write a lot more of the script. (At this moment, I’m in the middle of writing it. But I’m hoping that I’ve managed to finish it and send it to Kathryn by the time this would have updated.) The bad news is that I’ve realized there are parts I have forgotten, and so I need to go and read it through again. Then I can get onto the editing and finalizing of of the script. Then I can plan out the final volume/s (depending on how it plans out, it could just be three volumes long) and write the final scripts.

Two years of hard work, I hope that whatever happens in the future I’ll be satisfied with these scripts. It’s a long time to put work into something and if something were to go wrong with them then I think I’d be disappointed in myself. But, nothing has so far, so I think I’ll get through!

I’m off to Scotland to see my lovely family. So there may well not be an update next week (from me – I have no idea whether Kathryn has any plans to do something or not), so I shall be back on the 7th! (and the 26th for that automated blog I think I’ve posted… 0_O)

ELIZA’S BOOTS! :D

The threat of snow where I live has been constant these last few weeks (at one point it was up to my knees!) so out went the converses I wore until next summer and in came these very nice boots.

Kathryn and I are now both back in the same city so when we went out the other day, we were admiring the said boots. And we decided that these little boots of mine, were perfect for Eliza to wear in Heartstones. Although we did also decide that these particular boots should in fact look a little bit more “boyish”. Eliza is given some clothes, the boots included because we wanted her to have a new look at some point. But I’m sure those boots belonged to Jack at some point!

It was great the other day because Kathryn and I sat down and did a very long squee scene (as we did before uni). But I won’t talk about that one, we may well love it enough to go into the comic itself so that’d be a spoiler!

I’m going to write the christmas (hopefully!) story now.

It’s not long until Heartstones has it’s second birthday! I can’t believe this project has been going that long!

Naughty Writer and Twitter

I know. I did it again! Forgot to update!

Not that it matters too much as I’m sure everyone who reads this knows full well that life can and will get in the way of things. Especially when that particular person is quite busy, or preoccupied with things.

Which unfortunately at the moment I am. Obviously I’m now writing for my course so that’s a lot of work and there are lots of things going off in my life. So inevitably Heartstones blogs will and have been forgotten about.

But hopefully, next week I’ll be back to my little regime!

This week I have literally thought about the ending again for Heartstones, and decided on another possibility will use that one.

We will all just have to wait and see!

Now, for those of you who haven’t joined the facebook group last week Kathryn and I decided to make a twitter account. So come join us over on twitter! (and facebook if you haven’t already) all the latest news and updates shall be posted straight to there.

Snow Special

The UK has had loads of snow all week. I’ve been snowed into my house and it goes up to my knees! Never seen so much in life I swear. Anyway, Kathryn gave me the prompt of “snow” earlier today. And this is what I came up with, short, funny and snow filled I think!

Page one:

Panel 1: Long-establishing shot of a field. It’s dark, windy, snow is blowing down from the left and is adding to the pile of it that’s already covering the field. Two specs in the field can be seen walking through the middle of it.

Page two:

Panel 1: Close up shot of Eliza’s trainers stepping into the snow, so deep it’ll have completely destroyed them.

Panel 2: Mid shot from the back of Eliza. She’s now standing one footed in the snow, holding onto her trainers and looking annoyed. Two thick Victorian boots can be seen sticking out the side of her back pack. Jack’s standing in the end of the panel, looking over his shoulder and smirking at her.

ELIZA: STUPID SNOW!

Panel 3: Close up on Jack’s face as he watches her. He’s smirking.

JACK: TOLD YOU YOU’D NEED THOSE OTHER BOOTS ON.

Panel 4: Mid shot. This time Jack’s turned round to walk off and has his back facing Eliza. The snow drenched trainer is now hitting his head. He looks shocked.

Panel 5: Long shot of Eliza, her arms are crossed and she’s glaring at Jack. Both of the boots are now on her feet and the other trainer is on the floor.

Skypey Times

This week has been so busy I don’t think I’ve been able to breath very much. My assignments at university are really getting going now so the workload is naturally very heavy.

However!

Kathryn and I did have a big Heartstone-athon on Skype the other day. We dicussed things, squeed over things, and went back to our usual little ways when it came to this project.

Unfortunately, everything we drew and wrote would reveal massive spoilers in the plot line, and I’m just not nice enough to do that to do.

We’re meeting up on Saturday (whoop!) so I expect there’ll be a few little things we can spam you with for next weeks update.

Just so people know, there’s one thing that’s been bugging me a little bit about this update schedule of mine! This site does update as it’s supposed to, but twitter doesn’t post as it’s supposed to. So it should just be updated at 12 every week unlike twitter tells you! It’s not that important really is it? But it’s been bugging me.
